To All Local 814 Members:
Members and Employers have reached out to Local 814 with questions about the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Below are answers to the most common questions we have received, as well as the North American Building Trades Unions guidance for members and Employers on how to handle this outbreak. Please contact us if you have more questions or specific situations that are not addressed below.
- If you are feeling sick and decide to self-quarantine, let the company and the Union know. The Union will argue that your job is protected, but make sure to communicate.
- If the government implements local travel restrictions, and as a result you can’t get to the job site, let the company know as soon as you can. Your job is protected, but once again, let your dispatcher know.
- If you are dispatched to an occupied office where there has been a confirmed case of the virus (Blackrock etc.), let the Union know immediately.
